Swimming Poo

I was at the computer the other day and heard "Mommy come see" from the bathroom. Now, let me give you a little background to that comment. While potty training it was a pretty big deal when something would go in the potty. I thought it would end when the potty training was done, but after months of being potty trained the excitement is still going strong. This particular time is now my favorite. The conversation went as follows:

Hayden: "Look Mommy, my poos are swimming"
Me: "They are?" (with equal excitement in my voice)
Hayden: "Yes they are cause they don't have any legs to walk so they have to swim"
(I pause trying not to laugh while thinking what to say next)
Hayden: "But Elephants have legs"

And with that, he gave the poo his normal parting farewell while flushing.
"Good bye poos, I will see you later!"

It's a Party!!

We had a busy weekend and then got sick so I'm a little late posting all the festivities. We have that awful chest/head cold that's going around and we feel like crap. Anyway.......Hayden turned 3 on Monday!!! The fun started last Thursday morning when he woke up to find Grandma and Grandpa Dean asleep in the living room. That was fun. Then, on Saturday was the BIG party. It was held this year at Jump and Shout. What fun we had. I have a few complaints but overall it was a success. The "professional" cake was about the ugliest thing I have ever seen and I'm pretty sure I could have done a better job but it came with the "party package" so whatever. It was pretty ugly but everyone said it tasted really good so that's all that matters right? All of Hayden's friends came and they got to play, eat pizza, cake and open his presents!!
We're pretty sure that Uncle Kelly had more fun than all the kids did. He is going to be such a great Daddy when he baby comes in July!!
The Party Room
Playing air hockey with Grandma D. He loves this game.
Another joy of being a Grandma
The silly party hat that he didn't want to wear
He's such a big kid. He blew out the candles all by himself.
Present Time!!
All (well, most) of the Loot. Another present he got was......
A trip (and year pass) to the ZOO!!!! We went to the Zoo on Monday. Grandma and Grandpa paid for half of a year pass to the Zoo as part of his present. Really you can only use is from late fall to early spring, but we will get our money's worth in that time. He was so excited and we had so much fun.
That night at dinner we had them sing to Hayden. He thought it was pretty cool.
He saw the purple hat and wanted to wear it too. He's such a funny kid.
I can't believe how fast the time has gone since he was my tiny baby. People always say they grow up to fast but you don't really get it yours is the one growing. He is such a joy in our lives and we wouldn't trade the time we have with him for anything. We love you sweet baby.
